CELINA, Ohio (WLIO) - Wright State University’s Lake Campus introduced a new event for the community this weekend.
Their first-ever wine festival offered a relaxed evening of wine tastings with a scenic lakeside view of Grand Lake St. Marys. Several area wineries participated, bringing some of their most popular bottles to share with guests. Each person received 10 tasting tickets, a keepsake wine tasting glass, light snacks, and entries into raffles and giveaways.
"At the Lake Campus, we really want to focus on that we are a community hub. Not only for our students, but for, you know, the local region as well. So we partnered with our alumni association to host this event to bring past Lakers out here. Also just to welcome our community out here who may have not been out to the lake campus to before, to experience it in a different way," said Samantha Johnson, director of campus engagement and events with Wright State's Lake Campus.
Based on the strong interest shown through ticket sales, the campus plans to make this an annual event.
