ODOT shares update on clearing snow on West Central Ohio roadways

Press Release from the Ohio Department of Transportation: BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (Thursday, Jan. 19, 2023) - Aside from the frigid Christmas-time storm, winter this year has been comparable to last.

"We expect the latter part of winter to be colder with more snow -- that's what our weather service partners are predicting," said Mark Bressler, highway management administrator for the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT), District 2, headquartered in Bowling Green.

Below are the current stats for material usage and miles driven during snow and ice operations within the 16-county northwest Ohio region of ODOT:

Motorists are reminded that ODOT trucks travel at slower speeds and are asked to give them plenty of space to work. Last winter, ODOT plow trucks statewide were struck 62 times. This year, 17 ODOT crews have been struck while performing snow and ice operations.
