August 27, 2024, Press Release from the Wood County Sheriff's Office: At 6:27 a.m., the Wood County Sheriff's Office investigated a fatal crash between a motor vehicle and a bicycle on Devils Hole Road, between Pemberville Road and Lemoyne Road in Troy Township. The bicyclist, identified as 78-year-old Gary Donaldson of Pemberville, was headed west on the roadway. The vehicle, a gray Chevrolet Malibu driven by 44-year-old Amy Bushman, was also westbound. The vehicle struck the back of the bicycle, resulting in fatal injuries, as Gary was pronounced deceased at the scene. Assisting on scene were Troy Township Fire/EMS crews. The crash is still under investigation, but alcohol does not appear to be a factor.
