ADA, Ohio (WLIO) — Pandora-Gilboa leaned on a strong ground game and a stifling defense Friday night to cruise past Ada, 41-6, in a Blanchard Valley Conference matchup.
Rockets running back Ben Burkholder powered the offense, breaking tackles and gaining tough yardage throughout the night. Early in the third quarter, Burkholder broke free and punched in a touchdown to extend Pandora-Gilboa’s lead to 38-0, effectively sealing the win.
Burkholder also recovered a fumble in the first half after the ball was knocked loose, keeping the momentum firmly with Pandora-Gilboa.
Ada, which entered the game just outside the Region 26 playoff picture at No. 13, struggled to generate offense against the Rockets’ defense. The Bulldogs avoided the shutout late in the game when senior quarterback Blake Zoladz kept the ball and ran it in for the team’s only score.
With the win, Pandora-Gilboa strengthens its postseason resume and improves its record as the regular season nears its conclusion.
