BLUFFTON, Ohio (WLIO) — The Bluffton Beavers nearly pulled off a miracle comeback in their home opener against Albion.
After falling behind 29-3 at halftime, Bluffton scored 29 unanswered points in the second half to force overtime.
Quarterback Tywuan Clark sparked the rally with big plays both through the air and on the ground, including a connection with freshman wideout Jashawn Wyckoff and a long second-quarter scramble that set up scoring opportunities.
On defense, Travion Curry made an early stop in the backfield to keep the Beavers within striking distance.
But in the end, Albion held on in the extra period, handing Bluffton a 45-39 loss. The Beavers drop to 1-1 on the season and will look to bounce back next week.
