ARLINGTON, Ohio — With nearly the entire starting lineup returning, the Arlington Red Devils are hoping experience and leadership fuel a turnaround season in 2025.

Head coach Nick Inbody enters his second year at the helm after a long tenure as the team’s defensive coordinator. But with Inbody shifting his focus to the offensive side last fall, Arlington's defense struggled, allowing the most yards in the Blanchard Valley Conference.

This season, those growing pains may be a thing of the past. Only one starter graduated, meaning the Red Devils bring back nearly every key contributor — including standout two-way star Ayden Cavinee.

Cavinee earned second-team All-Ohio honors in 2024 after recording five interceptions — two of them returned for touchdowns — while also rushing for 1,100 yards and 19 scores, ranking among the BVC’s top three in both categories.

Arlington started last season 3-0 but stumbled with a three-game losing skid that contributed to a 5-6 finish. Cavinee says that rough stretch reshaped the team’s mindset — one they’re hoping pays off this fall.
