Countdown to Kickoff: Parkway to use youthful roster, veteran coach to spark turnaround

ROCKFORD, Ohio — The Parkway Panthers will lean on a youthful roster and the experience of head coach Brian Schmidt as they look to bounce back from a one-win season in 2024.
With just seven seniors on the 2025 roster, Parkway returns three starters on both offense and defense. The limited experience presents challenges, but Schmidt — now in his second year leading the Panthers and 27th overall as a head coach — sees promise in his group.
Schmidt said the team’s approach and attitude have improved naturally, driven by the energy and eagerness of the younger players. That enthusiasm, he believes, will be key in setting the tone for the season ahead.
Parkway will aim to use that youthful spark to build momentum early and make strides in the Midwest Athletic Conference.
