LIMA, OH — The final day of the 2025 Lima City Golf Tournament wrapped up Sunday at the historic Shawnee Country Club, where two of the area’s best battled for the Championship Flight crown.
This year’s final featured UNOH standout Guillermo Garron and Bluffton native Tyler Breidenbach. Things were tight early. On the 6th hole, Garron nearly drained a long birdie putt and tapped in for par to take a 1-up lead. But Breidenbach answered with a clean par on 8, evening things up heading to the turn.
On hole 9, both players matched each other stroke for stroke, each saving par to stay tied through the front nine. But momentum started shifting on the back. Garron drained a birdie on 13 to go 2-up, then added to his lead on 16—though Breidenbach cut it to two with a clutch birdie of his own. Still, the day belonged to Garron.
On the 17th, the rising senior from UNOH knocked in a short putt to seal the match—and the championship.
Final result: Garron wins 2 & 1 to secure his second Lima City Tournament title.
