FINDLAY — Liberty-Benton opened its postseason in commanding fashion, defeating Delta 49-13 in a Division 5 first-round matchup on Friday night.
Quarterback Connor Barbara led the Eagles’ explosive offense, scoring on a 44-yard run in the first quarter to make it 21-0. Barbara later connected with Karson Griffin for a touchdown through the air, then added another rushing score as Liberty-Benton built a comfortable lead before halftime.
The Blanchard Valley Conference champions, who have won every game this season, showed their balance on both sides of the ball while holding Delta in check throughout the night.
Liberty-Benton advances to face Creston Norwayne in the next round of the playoffs.
