UNDATED (AP) — When it comes to producing players for the NFL, it’s not surprising that the top-performing colleges are the most prolific. Where it gets more interesting is looking at how different schools excel at producing players at different positions. Oklahoma has thrived with quarterbacks over the past decade thanks to Lincoln Riley’s tenure as an offensive coordinator and head coach there. Stanford and Iowa have had fierce debates about which school should get the moniker Tight End U. Notre Dame punches above its weight at offensive line, while schools like Ohio State and LSU vie for top billing at receiver.

ATLANTA (AP) — A former defensive tackle at the University of Alabama is accused of wearing makeup and wigs to impersonate NFL players in a fraud scheme that bilked investors of $20 million. Federal prosecutors in Atlanta charged Luther Davis last month with conspiracy to commit wire fraud and aggravated identity theft. An email and call to his attorney, Gabe Banks, on Friday were not immediately returned. According to a court filing, Davis is expected to plead guilty later this month. In a criminal complaint, prosecutors say Davis impersonated three separate NFL players. The complaint only identifies the NFL players by their initials.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — The Vanderbilt Commodores wrap spring practice as only the first step in coach Clark Lea’s process of picking a new starting quarterback to replace Diego Pavia. Vanderbilt stunned recruiting circles last November when five-star quarterback Jared Curtis flipped his commitment to Georgia to stay close to home playing for the Commodores. That quickly prompted the assumption he would simply slide into the starting lineup. Yet Vanderbilt also has senior Blaze Berlowitz and two others on hand. Lea says the competition will be a process of elimination extending into the season well past the spring Black and Gold game.

UNDATED (AP) — Georgia has managed to retain the most talent in the Southeastern Conference for 2026. More than half of the Bulldogs' 2025 starting lineup will return, including key players like quarterback Gunner Stockton and running back Nate Frazier. Coach Kirby Smart says the team is focused on building depth and preparing for the upcoming season. Frazier, a projected 2028 first-rounder, emphasizes teamwork over personal goals. Georgia has taken a methodical approach to transfers, focusing on retaining talent. Four of their nine new transfers are defensive backs, including Khalil Barnes from Clemson. Georgia also added Isiah Canion in hopes that the 6-foot-4 receiver can help fill the void of Zachariah Branch and Colbie Young.

AUBURN, Ala. (AP) — New Auburn coach Alex Golesh has plenty of familiar faces around for his debut season. Dual-threat quarterback Byrum Brown followed Golesh to the Plains from South Florida and brought a big chunk of the Bulls’ high-powered offense with him. Golesh signed 13 former USF players in total, including receivers Chas Nimrod, Keshaun Singleton, Jeremiah Koger and Christian Neptune. Throw in center Cole Best, tight end Jonathan Echols, running back Nykahi Davenport and backup quarterback Locklan Hewlett, and there’s reason to believe Golesh & Co. could have a smooth transition into the Southeastern Conference. Auburn will provide a glimpse of its revamped roster during the team’s spring game Saturday.

AUBURN, Ala. (AP) — Auburn is moving forward with the largest capital project in program history. The school’s board of trustees granted final approval for a multipurpose facility and a plaza space to be built at the north end of Jordan-Hare Stadium. The additions are expected to cost $323 million. Construction is scheduled to begin this summer. Auburn hopes to have at least a portion of the project completed and available for use by fall 2028, with the remainder to be finished in spring 2029. The multipurpose center will construct a seven-story addition onto Jordan-Hare that will provide 3,000 additional premium seats and expand campus dining options.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) — Will Stein has used spring practice to speed up Kentucky using techniques he learned well at Oregon as he works to transform the Wildcats before his debut season. The former offensive coordinator at Oregon has been busy not only getting his roster on the same page, but also the entire coaching staff. The result has been practices without many breaks this spring. Stein says he's used to doing things the right way and he's seen it that done that way for a long time. Kentucky fans get their first glimpse at the difference Saturday in the Wildcats' spring game.

FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) — Minnesota clinched the program’s first NCAA finals appearance in women’s gymnastics, joining top three seeds Oklahoma, Florida and LSU to battle for the national title. No. 13-seed Minnesota became the lowest seed to reach the final since the NCAA began seeding in 2014. Defending champion Oklahoma led throughout the second semifinal and notched the highest-overall score of the day at 198.3000. The Sooners will go for their fourth NCAA championship in five years on Saturday. No. 3 seed Florida won the first semifinal for an opportunity to clinch the program’s fifth national championship. LSU reached the championship for the 11th time in program history
