COLUMBUS GROVE, Ohio (WLIO) — After 11 weeks of high school boys basketball in West Central Ohio, the intensity continues to rise — and so do the highlights.
This week’s K&M Contracting Play of the Week belongs to Columbus Grove sophomore Gavin Baxter.
The moment came during the Bulldogs’ Northwest Conference (NWC) showdown against Bluffton. In the second half, Baxter came up with a defensive rebound, pushed the ball up the floor himself, moved past the defense and elevated for a powerful two-handed slam.
The 6-foot-4 sophomore made it look effortless, bringing the home crowd to its feet and maintaining the momentum in Grove’s favor.
Columbus Grove went on to defeat Bluffton 56-48, securing its third NWC victory of the season. The Bulldogs are now 13-5 overall after the weekend.
Baxter and the Bulldogs return to action when they host Shawnee in their next matchup.
Congratulations to Gavin Baxter, this week’s K&M Contracting Play of the Week winner.
