ST. MARYS, Ohio (WLIO) — St. Marys pulled away late to defeat Elida 55–44 on Tuesday night in Western Buckeye League play.

Elida tightened the gap in the third quarter when Lilly Sifrit jumped a passing lane for a steal and converted a layup while drawing a foul. She completed the three-point play to bring the Bulldogs within 28–23.

St. Marys answered immediately. Junior Audrey Reineke buried a corner three, part of her 16-point performance, to extend the Roughriders’ lead to eight.

Elida continued to battle in the fourth. Peyton Burden knocked down a three-pointer to keep the Bulldogs within reach, but St. Marys had the final surge.

Kaya Fulmer added one of her own from beyond the arc, finishing with 16 points as the Roughriders regained control.

St. Marys closed the game on a late run to secure the 55–44 victory.
