LIMA (WLIO) — Senior Night at Lima Gymnasium featured a non-conference matchup between Lima Senior and Wayne Trace.
The Spartans came out strong behind senior Khaliah Luster, who attacked the basket early to help Lima take control. Moments later, Luster found Jaislynn Ingram on the perimeter. One dribble and up it went — Ingram buried the three to give the Spartans a 6-2 lead.
Wayne Trace responded as Caroline Winans swung the ball to Kinlee Miller, who knocked down a triple of her own to keep the Raiders within striking distance.
Lima Senior put together one of its best sequences of the night when Michaela Bean came up with a block on the defensive end. Ingram pushed the ball up the floor and delivered a perfectly timed pass back to Bean for the easy layup.
Luster led the Spartans with 19 points in the contest.
However, Wayne Trace closed strong, outscoring Lima Senior 15-6 in the fourth quarter. Amber Stoller came up with a steal and converted it into two of her 11 points to help seal the comeback.
The Raiders defeated the Spartans 45-39.
