COLUMBUS — With Week 9 underway, the OHSAA computer ratings continue to shape the playoff picture as teams chase league titles and postseason berths. Remember: the top 12 teams in each region qualify for the playoffs, and the top four seeds earn first-round byes.

Findlay and Lima Senior remain steady in their respective regions, holding their current positions in Region 2 and Region 8. Undefeated Wapakoneta continues to sit near the top of Region 10, while Shawnee slipped a spot and St. Marys moved up following last Friday’s results. Defiance appears as a newcomer in Region 10 at No. 12, and the WBL’s representation is rounded out by Bath and Van Wert in Region 14.

Liberty-Benton made a leap to No. 4 in Region 18 (Division V) after a convincing win over Leipsic. In Region 20, Indian Lake sits at No. 7 with Versailles at No. 11. Region 22 saw Paulding and Bluffton fall one spot despite victories, while Patrick Henry tumbled five spots after a one-point loss to Archbold.

Region 24 remains competitive: Coldwater is at No. 5, and Anna slipped one spot following a double-overtime defeat to Marion Local. Region 26 is led by Lima Central Catholic with North Baltimore close behind. Leipsic is fourth in that region, followed by Pandora-Gilboa, Arlington and Waynesfield-Goshen.

Region 28 continues to be led by Marion Local at 8-0. St. Henry slipped to third, and the Midwest Athletic Conference has a strong presence with New Bremen, Minster and Fort Recovery all appearing in the early regional ratings. Lehman Catholic rounds out the region’s entries at No. 11 as the Cavaliers sit at 7-1.

These weekly computer ratings will continue to update each Tuesday and will be a key factor as teams jockey for seeding and playoff positioning down the stretch.
