ARCHBOLD, Ohio (WLIO) — In a heavyweight matchup between two 6-1 squads, Archbold overcame an early deficit to edge Patrick Henry 22-21 on Friday night in a thriller that could have major league title implications.
Patrick Henry (6-2) struck quickly in the first quarter, as quarterback Tristen Rosebrook handed off to Kiefer Holloway, who broke free for an electrifying 81-yard touchdown run to put the Patriots on the board.
The Patriots struck again shortly after. Jaiden Rutter found the end zone to give P-H a 14-0 lead and early control of the game.
Archbold (7-1) responded, though the opening drive for the Blue Streaks stalled after a Maddox Pinter-to-Anderson Bentley connection. From there, the Blue Streaks settled in and chipped away at the deficit before pulling ahead in the second half.
In a tight finish, Archbold secured the comeback victory by a single point, 22-21, handing Patrick Henry just its second loss of the season.
