LIMA, OH (WLIO) - It has become a tradition for families in the area and the Lima Family YMCA is proud to host it once again.

It is an opportunity for dads to show their little girls how a lady should be treated. This year marks the 14th Father-Daughter Dance and it has grown every year. It started in the community room and is now hosted in the gymnasium where it's decked out with a DJ spinning the tunes and dads and daughters showing their moves on the dance floor. Organizers say it is heartwarming to see the bonds between the fathers and their little girls.

"And I love to kind of watch those girls coming in and they look so adorable and the fathers are treating them like a gentleman should treat a young lady. And there are father figures too, grandfathers have come and uncles have come. It's just a great event for the community," said Terri Averesch, vice president of the Lima Family YMCA.

The dance will be on Saturday, February 4th from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Lima YMCA. Register online or at the YMCA (345 S. Elizabeth St. Lima, Ohio 45801). The dance is free for members and only $6 for non-members.
