3 murder suspects make first appearance in federal court

The three people who are charged with the murder of a Virginia man in Auglaize County last week make their first appearance in federal court.

35-year-old Amanda Hovanec, 61-year-old Anita Green, and 33-year-old Anthony Theodorou all waived their right to a preliminary hearing in Toledo Federal Court. They are charged with the death of Timothy Hovanec, who was killed by lethal injection of a drug. Now their cases will be bound over to a federal grand jury to determine if new or additional charges will be brought against them.

According to court documents, Amanda and Timothy Hovanec were in a custody battle over their kids. When Timothy dropped the kids off at Green's home, Amanda allegedly attacked him with a syringe full of lethal drugs. Amanda and Theodorou allegedly buried Timothy’s body in a wooded area in rural Auglaize County.
