4 dead, 2 injured in downtown Cincinnati shooting

Police say four people are dead, including the gunman, in a downtown Cincinnati bank shooting.

Police Chief Eliot Isaac said the shooter opened fire early Thursday morning at the loading dock of the Fifth Third Bank building. Isaac said the gunman then entered the bank's lobby where he exchanged gunfire with police. It's unclear if the gunman shot himself or was shot by officers. A total of five people were shot, one of the shooter's victims died at the scene, the other two at the hospital. Cincinnati Mayor John Cranley said the gunman was actively shooting innocent victims and that it was a horrific scene.

"It's heartbreaking. This is not normal and it shouldn't be viewed as normal. This is abnormal. No other industrialized country has this level of active multiple shootings almost on a regular basis, almost on a daily basis. I think there's something deeply sick at work here. And we a country have got to deal with it," said Mayor John Cranley.

Cranley added that it "could have been much, much worse" if not for the immediate police response to end the threat. The police are searching an apartment that is about 15 miles from the scene of the attack, they still have not released any details about the shooter, but will says that the shooter wasn't a current or past employee at the bank.
