A Putnam County woman is dead after a two vehicle collision this morning in Shawnee Township.Â
90 year old Dorothy Dunlap of Columbus Grove was killed when the vehicle she was a passenger in was struck by a pickup truck at the intersection of State Route 501 and Fort Amanda Road. The accident occurred just after 8:30 this morning as Dunlap's son, 66 year old Thomas Dunlap, also from Columbus Grove, was driving a 2009 Chevy Equinox heading south on 501 and failed to yield while turning left onto Fort Amanda Road into the path of a pickup truck heading north.Â
The Chevy truck driven by 27 year old Cory Jones of Elida was unable to Miss Dunlap's vehicle hitting it on the passenger side. The elder Dunlap was pronounced dead at the scene. Thomas Dunlap and Jones were transported to St. Rita's Medical Center for minor injuries and were later released. The intersection was shut down for several hours this morning while the investigation was being conducted.
