
LIMA, OH (WLIO) - The Lima Police Department is investigating the stabbing death of an elderly woman.
Detectives say a 76-year-old woman was found dead with multiple stab wounds in her torso at 1840 Mound Road Monday night. Through the investigation, they identified 24-year-old Daniel Wood of Lima as the person allegedly responsible. Wood was arrested today while driving the victim's stolen vehicle. He was taken into custody and is being held in the Allen County Jail on the charge of suspicion of murder.

January 9, 2024 4:53 PM Press Release from the Lima Police Department: On Monday, January 8, 2024, officers from the Lima Police Department were dispatched to an address located in the 1800 block of Mound Rd., Lima, Ohio 45805 in reference to a possible deceased person. Upon officer’s arrival at the residence, a 76 year old female was found dead. The female victim had suffered multiple stab wounds to her torso.
After an extensive investigative search by LPD Patrol Officers, Investigators and Detectives, a suspect was identified as Daniel P. Wood, 24 years old of Lima, Ohio. LPD Patrol Officers located Daniel operating the victim’s stolen vehicle in the area of Market and Metcalf St. Daniel was taken into custody without further incident and charged with Suspicion of Murder.
