A Lima man falls to his death at a Hocking Co. nature preserve

The Hocking County Coroner has released the name of a man that fell 80 feet to his death.

45-year-old Willard L. Gay of Lima was pronounced dead at 3:37 pm on Sunday, May 15th. In an investigation into the fall, the coroner's office reports that Gay was on the upper rim of Conkles Hollow and dropped something. He saw the object and walked around the platform near the waterfall and reached for the object when he fell headfirst off the rim. The coroner's investigator says the fall was witnessed. Gay's body has been taken to Montgomery County for autopsy.
