MCCOMB, OHIO (WLIO) - A McComb man was killed in a two-vehicle crash in rural Hancock County. Hancock County Sheriff’s deputies say the crash happened just after 8 a.m. at the intersection of SR 235 and CR 96.
45-year-old Timothy Brown died from his injuries after he was ejected from his pickup truck. Deputies say 30-year-old Colt Eck of Findlay failed to stop at a stop sign at State Route 235 and hit Brown. Both vehicles overturned. Eck was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. Brown was pronounced dead at the hospital. The crash is under investigation.
Media Release from Hancock County Sheriff’s Office: On Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at 8:13 AM, the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a two-vehicle injury crash at the intersection of SR 235 and CR 96 in Blanchard Township.
It was learned Colt Eck, 30 yoa, of Findlay, Ohio was traveling east on CR 96 in a 1996 Ford Explorer. Colt failed to stop at the stop sign at SR 235 and struck a 2011 Ford F-150 traveling north on SR 235. The Ford was being operated by Timothy Brown, 45 yoa, of McComb. Both vehicles overturned and came to rest in a field. Timothy was ejected from the vehicle.
Both, Colt was transported by PMP EMS and Timothy was transported by Hanco EMS to Blanchard Valley Hospital. Colt sustained minor injuries and Timothy was pronounced dead at BVH.Â

The crash is pending investigation.
