A Spencerville police officer resigns after being present at a bar fight at J's on Saturday morning

An off-duty Spencerville police officer submitted his resignation to Spencerville Police Chief Kyle Miller Saturday morning. Miller says the letter just stated Jordan Wehrly was resigning from his part-time position at the department. Chief Miller did confirm that the resignation was related to a fight that broke out at J’s Pub earlier that morning.

Wehrly can be widely seen in social media video, which we have not been given permission to air, identifying himself as a police officer during a large altercation of people at the bar. Miller says that Wherly had been on the department since November. The Lima Police Department is investigating the fight that broke out and could be releasing more information as early as Thursday.

Authorities do say that 23-year-old Bradin Fischer-Jones who was brutally beaten has been released from the hospital. The LPD is asking anyone with information about the incident to contact the detective's bureau at 419-227-4444 or call Crime Stoppers at 419-229-7867.
