ALLEN COUNTY, OH (WLIO) - Allen County is offering its services to the Joint Systems Manufacturing Center if an emergency comes up.
Allen County commissioners approved a memorandum of understanding with the manufacturer of Abrams tanks and Stryker vehicles in case certain incidents arise at the plant. Allen County Homeland Security has been running drills with the Joint Systems Manufacturing Center for years, but this is the first time the two have put some sort of agreement on paper.
"The agreement is that if they need to relocate emergency operations center that they could come, and we will assist with that aspect," says Jared Gesler, Allen County deputy director of Homeland Security/EMA. "We have a good facility, plenty of space. It's great to offer that opportunity for them.
The agreement is for 10 years and will be reviewed each year.
