ALLEN COUNTY, OH (WLIO) - It's no longer "If" but a question of "When" as Allen County heads into several major projects that will move the county ahead in "Customer service".

Allen County Commissioners giving their annual "State of the County" address at the Lima Rotary Club. They spoke about the upcoming administrative building project that is set to break ground this spring, the renovation of the child support enforcement agency, and the savings building. This all leading up to the renovations at the Allen County Courthouse. The county is set financially as they have no debt heading into these major projects. The "Admin" building will be paid for in cash with money they have allocated and they will be borrowing from themselves for the other projects.

"We have a dedicated source of dollars coming in that is prescribed for debt, so that money has been saved, so we'll have that. The administrative building, we've got the cash to pay for that building. Looking at the children's services building, we're going to have to borrow on that one," said Cory Noonan, Allen County Commissioner.

"Our plans with the courthouse itself is to make it a true county courthouse. We'll move all of our courts into that one building so it will be a much more convenient stop for everyone that would have to attend courts," commented Brian Winegardner, Allen County Commissioner.
Commissioners also speaking on other responsibilities of their office including appointments to the nearly 30 different boards required by the Ohio Revised Code.
"The biggest thing is we want them to understand, we want the citizens to understand that serve for us that they are serving in our place. And they are serving for the taxpayers, for the benefit of the taxpayers as well," stated Beth Seibert, Allen County Commissioners.
