LIMA, OH (WLIO) - Questions surrounding the relationship between the Allen County Fair and non-profit school organizations were addressed tonight.
The Allen County Fair Concessions Committee and several of its board members met before a crowd at the Youth Building, addressing concerns over who's responsible and who pays for what at the fair buildings being used by local non-profit organizations.
Getting feedback and addressing concerns from each organization was the goal of the meeting.

Following the discussion, Allen County Fair Manager Troy Elwer and a representative from one of the nonprofit school organizations involved seem to have a better understanding of the issue.
"I think over time, there was no real paper trail to track what the relationship actually was or should be between the Agriculture Society and the building organizations, noted Elwer. What we accomplished here tonight that we talked through the concerns and feedback that each of the building organizations had. What we're going to do is compile all of this feedback, present it to our board of directors, and then put it in the form of an agreement that both parties are going to sign that will explain exactly what that relationship is for years into the future."
"I think tonight's meeting was a real good start, and we're going to eliminate a lot of the gray area that was there for our contracts and really get these buildings up to par. A lot of them have been deteriorating, and it's nobody's fault. It's just one of those things where we've got to eliminate that gray area," added Rick Kennedy, Bath Parent Teacher Society.
Elwer says he's looking forward to rebuilding the relationship with each organization leading into the new fair season.
