Allen County Sheriff's Office identifies victim in American Township New Year's Eve shooting

AMERICAN TOWNSHIP, OH (WLIO) - A New Year's Eve fight with gunfire ended with one man dead and another arrested. The Allen County Sheriff's Office has identified the victim as 41-year-old Sandos Boddie Jr. who was found at 2226 Glenwood Avenue in American Township.

The Allen County Sheriff's Office reports that 46-year-old Djuan McLaurin Sr. was taken into custody at his home where Boddie's body was found. He is charged with murder. The sheriff's office was assisted by the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation and the Allen County Prosecutor's Office. Boddie's body was taken to the Lucas County Coroner's Office. January 2, 2024 Follow-up Media Release from the Allen County Sheriff's Office: On Sunday December 31, 2023 at 11:17pm, the Allen County Sheriff's Office received a call of an active fight with gunfire at 2226 N. Glenwood Ave American Township, Lima, Ohio.

Upon deputies arrival they located Sandos Boddie Jr (DOB: 1-11-82) deceased inside the residence. D'Juan McLaurin SR who was also inside the residence, was taken into custody as a person of interest regarding Boddie's death.

The Sheriff's Office was assisted by American Township EMS, the Ohio Attorney General's Office Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) and the Allen County County Prosecutor's Office. Boddie's body was transported to the Lucas County Coroner's Office.
