LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — Members of the Allen Lima Leadership (ALL) program received an inside look at the graduate medical education center at Mercy Health Lima, gaining firsthand insight into how future medical professionals are trained.

Participants explored a range of learning tools, from advanced technology-based patient simulators to hands-on experiences involving a human heart, offering a comprehensive view of the facility’s capabilities. The visit aimed to highlight the role the education center plays in preparing the next generation of healthcare providers.

Hospital leaders said opportunities like the tour are critical in helping community leaders better understand the complexity of healthcare and the resources available locally.

“We know it's so important that all of the leaders in our community understand the services that we offer,” said Suzy Troyer, manager of experience of care at Mercy Health. “Healthcare is really complex and hard to navigate, and we want to share this with as many industry leaders so that they can direct other people in the community to the resources that we have.”

The ALL program, organized through the Lima Allen County Chamber of Commerce, is designed to engage participants in leadership development and strengthen connections across the community.
