LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — Allen County Commissioner Brian Winegardner visited residents at Lochhaven Assisted Living on Wednesday to provide an update on projects taking place across the county.
Winegardner explained the role of the Allen County commissioners and discussed three major projects in Lima: the new Allen County administration building, renovations at the Allen County Courthouse and the redevelopment of Cook Tower. Once complete, Cook Tower will become the new home of the Allen County Child Support Enforcement Agency.
Winegardner said the visit was part of the commissioners' ongoing effort to keep residents informed about county business.
"It's important to reach out to all citizens of Allen County just to let them know what we're doing on a daily basis and what the plans are for the county in the future. There's a lot of other social groups that we go to. This is just a continuation of the outreach that we do with the commissioner's office," Winegardner said.
Winegardner is seeking re-election and will face Democratic candidate Lew Modic in the Nov. 3 general election.
