LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — It was one of the biggest turnouts for a youth program at the Lima Public Library — and not a word was spoken between participants.

More than a dozen children took part in the library's Baby-Toddler Play Time, a social hour for kids from birth to 2 years old and their parents. The library provides age-appropriate toys to help young children build gross motor skills, while interaction with others supports emotional development. Parents say it’s a great opportunity to get out of the house and meet other families.

More than a dozen children took part in the library's Baby-Toddler Play Time, a social hour for kids from birth to 2 years old and their parents.

"Toddler Playtime is more just interacting with other kiddos. So the little kids have open availability to play and get to know other kids and share and play with new toys and discover things that you enjoy here at the library too," said Michelle Peake-Warren, who brings her son to the program.

The next Baby-Toddler Play Time is scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 25, at 10 a.m. in the Story Time Room in the Youth Department.
