LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - Scams can take many forms. Amy Carles with the Ohio Consumers' Counsel spoke to Lima Rotarians about various types of utility scams and how they may appear.

Amy Carles with the Ohio Consumers' Counsel spoke to Lima Rotarians about various types of utility scams and how they may appear.

"Last week was National Consumer Protection Week, and that's a time that the Federal Trade Commission, the Attorney General's office, and offices like the office of the Ohio Consumers' Council are out telling people what their consumer rights are and what kind of scams and frauds to look out for. So what I tried to do today was to make sure that they had the idea of what a lot of those different scams could be, and to make sure that they were not falling for them," said Amy Carles, senior outreach & education specialist with the Office of the Consumers' Counsel.
