LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — Seeing a need in the community, a local service organization stepped in to help families in Lima and Allen County.
The Lima Exchange Club, with assistance from the Lima Eagles, donated $2,000 to Allen County Children Services. The funds will be used to purchase diapers for families served by the agency who are unable to afford them.
Shelly Conrad, program administrator for Allen County Children Services, said donations like these help fill critical gaps for families.
“Typically, these types of things are extra. So anytime we receive donations from service clubs or community partners, these are things that we can utilize to help families out with,” Conrad said.
Stephanie Moos, president of the Lima Exchange Club, credited the Eagles for their continued support of community needs.
“Our friends at the Eagles here in Lima, have continued to support our club and continue to be generous within the community, we reached out to them recently. We knew the need at Children's Services, and they delivered,” Moos said.
One of the Exchange Club’s core missions is to prevent child abuse and raise awareness about issues impacting children and families.
