Three organizations came together to promote health and wellness this spring.
The SAFY Youth Drop-in Center, Activate Allen County, and the West Ohio Food Bank teamed up for a giveaway event. Activate Allen County gave away items like kites, plastic bats, and balls. The SAFY Youth Drop-in center gave out hygiene packets and food. The West Ohio Food Bank had boxes of food to give away. This is the second time they teamed up for a giveaway event and they are glad they can help families and teens in the area.
“It makes me feel wonderful, and it makes all of us feel wonderful because we are all about community,” says Alyssa Suarez, Life Coach SAFY Drop-in Center. “We are just a big community coming together to help the people in need.”
If you are between the ages of 12 and 17 years old, and maybe looking for a safe space to go to do homework or build life skills, the SAFY Youth Drop-in Center is open seven days a week from 10 am to 8 pm at 658 West Market St. Suite 112, Lima.
