LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — The show must go on for students at Heir Force Community School, who finally had the opportunity to perform for the Lima Kiwanis Club after weeks of anticipation.

Students presented their holiday concert to Kiwanis Club members after cold and snowy weather in December prevented the original performance. The delayed event gave students the chance to showcase their musical talents and creativity in front of a live audience. Many of the students expressed excitement about performing, even if it came with a bit of nervousness.

“I play recorder, and I play it because I like it, and I'm good at it, and then it's when I come out to perform. I'm like, nervous, but I like it because I like to perform in front of all the people,” says Trayden Lucas.

Other students highlighted how music education allows them to learn alongside their peers.

“I play piano, and I like it because my teachers, I and he has other students, like nine other students,” says Myla Walton.

Beyond traditional performances, students also enjoy incorporating their own ideas into their music, including turning songs into rap performances, making the experience both educational and fun.
