LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - The Lima/Allen County Chamber of Commerce hosted the Big 7 regional thought roundtable luncheon to discuss Ohio's current economy with various state organizations.

A big area of conversation included the latest on President Donald Trump's tariffs and how they are impacting Ohio's economy. The area of business workforce brought up talking points about how businesses are struggling to find and keep good employees and what potential factors could be in play. While the roundtable panel acknowledges that challenges do exist, they are optimistic Ohio's economy is moving forward.

"We have really good economic momentum, but we have challenges - property taxes, for example, is certainly a challenge statewide, getting more energy and being able to feed all of the advanced manufacturing coming this state is a challenge," said Rick Carfagna, Senior VP of Government Affairs for the Ohio Chamber of Commerce. "But CNBC ranked Ohio the fifth best state to do business in. There isn't a state out there in the union that would not trade its problems for our problems at this moment."

Carfagna adds this event gives local companies a chance to advocate on issues to the Ohio legislature.
