LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — The Lima Family YMCA hosted its final no-school day of the year for area students, giving them a chance to enjoy a fun day off from school. The "Y" offers this program several times throughout the year, coinciding with school holidays.

On Monday, children still on Easter break took part in a variety of activities, including games, gym time, and a dip in the pool. While this is the last no-school day of the school year, the YMCA will continue to offer a weekday camp during the summer months.

Skylynn Prine, Youth Director at the Lima Family YMCA, explained that summer camp activities will be similar to the no-school days, but on a larger scale. “Summer camp is pretty much the same thing,” Prine said. “We come in, we talk about how our week's gonna go, we have some fun activities planned. We’re gonna do some field trips this year. We do the swimming still, we do fun games outside, and we do some fun activities in the room. So, we pretty much do it like our no-school day. It's just every day, all summer long.”

Summer camp registration is now open, and the camp runs from June 2 through August 15. The cost is $95 for members and $110 for non-members. For more information, contact the Lima Family YMCA.
