LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — It’s a chance to win big prizes while supporting local children’s programs. The Lima Noon Optimist Club is launching its first-ever “Quarters for Kids” fundraiser, a twist on a traditional quarter auction aimed at raising money for youth-focused initiatives.
Funds raised will benefit several of the club’s ongoing projects, including Safety City, the Lima Area Youth Orchestra, Little League, and other programs that support area children.
Only 240 entry tickets will be sold. Each $40 ticket includes light hors d'oeuvres, a drink ticket, one paddle valid for 20 auction rounds, and the opportunity to win prizes such as designer purses, electronics, date nights, and more. Additional paddles will be available for purchase at the event.
“There’s a whole list of events and things that the Optimist Club supports, and so it’s really important to get out and raise the funds that you can when you can, to help kids,” said Paul Downing of the Lima Noon Optimist Club.
The event is scheduled for Saturday, May 10, from 1 to 4 p.m. at American Legion Post 96 on South Shore Drive. Tickets can be purchased by texting 419-231-5952 or 419-230-9361.
