LIMA, OH (WLIO) - The Lima Allen County community lost a longtime business owner and supporter of local causes. Â Bill Timmermeister died Thursday morning at the Greens. Timmermeister purchased the now Lima Auto Mall from his father-in-law's estate in 1977, having been with the company since 1967. The business moved from their downtown location to their current site on N. Cable Road in 1995.
Lima Auto Mall V.P. Rodger McClain says Bill cared deeply about his employees and their families.  He was quietly involved in many community causes. He was a longtime board member at the Allen County Museum. He was a member of Lima Rotary since 1974, and was a past president. He was also a major donor to the United Way of Greater Lima. He donated to what is now the Timmermeister Family Surgery Center at Lima Memorial Health System. Funeral arrangements have not been set. Timmermeister was 80 years old.Â
