ALLEN COUNTY, Ohio (WLIO) — An infrastructure project at Procter & Gamble is on the fast track to completion.

P&G Expansion Spurs $3 Million Infrastructure Upgrade in Allen County

The Allen County commissioners have approved a cooperative agreement involving the Port Authority of Allen County, Procter & Gamble, and the county to move the project forward. The $3 million roundabout is primarily funded by the company, with additional support from federal and state grant dollars. The new intersection is designed to handle increased truck traffic expected from Procter & Gamble’s $500 million "scent bead" expansion.

“When we have industrial development, we look at our roadway and any type of infrastructure improvements that we need,” said Cindy Leis, president and CEO of the Allen Economic Development Group. “It not only benefits the company that we’re serving and wanting them to stay here and grow here, but we’re also serving the public in general because the public will also take advantage of our roadway improvements.”

Although Procter & Gamble is funding the project, the county will take possession of the roundabout once it is completed and will be responsible for its maintenance. Construction is expected to begin in March and be completed by the fall.
