Lima, Ohio (WLIO) - A small delegation from Task Force Lima met with newly elected Ohio representatives on Capitol Hill earlier this week to highlight the importance of the Joint Systems Manufacturing Center (JSMC).

"Linked in Mutual Alliance," known as Task Force Lima was established in the mid-1990s to prevent the JSMC from being mothballed—and it succeeded. The group consists of community, industrial, and governmental entities working to promote the significance of this military facility, not only for the region but for the nation as well.

Task Force Lima Hits Nation’s Capital to Advocate for Joint Systems Manufacturing Center

The group consists of community, industrial, and governmental entities working to promote the significance of this military facility, not only for the region but for the nation as well.

Cory Noonan, Allen County Commissioner and Task Force Lima Chairman, emphasized the facility’s impact across Ohio's congressional districts:
"Each congressional district has some type of impact on the facility here in Allen County, so having them understand the great work being produced there, the great machinery being created, and the impact their constituents have on that facility is vital," Noonan said. "It's crucial to maintain funding to continue producing battle tanks and other military equipment."

With budget talks ongoing in Washington, Noonan stressed the importance of being proactive in providing lawmakers with the latest information about the JSMC.
