LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — More than 200 people danced the day away at the American Legion on Wednesday as ViaQuest Day and Employment Services hosted its annual prom for adults with disabilities, mental health needs, and hospice care support.

Clients from six ViaQuest facilities across Ohio—including Toledo, Dayton, Cincinnati, and Bowling Green—gathered in Lima for a day of music, dancing, and celebration.

Each participating facility crowned its own prom king and queen, adding to the festive atmosphere and spotlighting the individuals.

“We have everybody that's somebody is here today,” said Charles Jackson, a ViaQuest administrator. “Many of them do not get this opportunity to dress up, to have a day that’s just for them. The glam, the glamour—it’s all about them. This is their special day. They’re kings, they’re queens, they’re celebrities. This is the one day we say we love you, we appreciate you, and we honor you.”

Each participating facility crowned its own prom king and queen, adding to the festive atmosphere and spotlighting the individuals served by ViaQuest, which operates in Ohio, Indiana, and Pennsylvania.

This marks the second year the prom has been held in Lima, and organizers say it has quickly become a cherished tradition for both staff and clients.
