LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - The Lima-Allen County Chamber of Commerce took its monthly Wake, Rattle and Roll breakfast program on the road Friday, bringing local business leaders to the Allen County Fairgrounds.
The breakfast program has made its annual trip to the fairgrounds for many years, giving local business leaders an opportunity to learn more about agriculture, Allen County's No. 1 industry.
Big Dan Wilson, host and producer of “In Ohio Country Today,” spoke during the event about agriculture and politics. Wilson created the television show, along with a podcast and radio show, to educate people about the importance of agriculture and help others better understand the role it plays in everyday life.
“I think it's important for us to take control, to be that voice, not let other people advocate for us, but for them to advocate for themselves and talk directly to those politicians, whether they're township trustees, county commissioners, US senators, state representatives, to make their voice be heard all the time, not just during election season,” said Wilson.
“In Ohio Country Today” has been on the air for 21 years, covering topics of interest to Ohio agricultural producers. The program can be seen on Your Home Town Stations on Saturday and Sunday mornings.
