LIMA, Ohio — Shawnee pulled away from Kenton on Friday night, earning a 30-6 victory at Shawnee Stadium in a Western Buckeye League matchup.

The Indians opened the scoring with a field goal in the first quarter to take a 3-0 lead.

Shawnee's defense then created an opportunity when Kaden Kraft knocked the ball loose from the Kenton quarterback and recovered the fumble.

The takeaway set up the Indians' offense, which eventually extended the lead when Brogan Rayer connected with Jarin Bagley. Bagley carried the pass all the way to the goal line, setting up Shawnee at the doorstep.

Kei Lasenby punched it in on the next play, giving the Indians a 10-0 advantage.

Shawnee continued to build momentum before halftime.

Tarran Ellis capped another scoring drive with a touchdown, taking advantage of yards after the catch to extend the Indians' lead.

Shawnee carried that momentum into the second half and went on to defeat Kenton 30-6.

The victory gave the Indians a strong showing in their Western Buckeye League matchup, while Kenton fell short on the road.
