LIMA, OH (WLIO) - Put down the tablet and pick up a bow and arrow.

Warriors Way is teaming up with the local Lima community and Bradfield Center to get kids outside to practice their accuracy and precision. "Youth Archery Class" will take place every Tuesday 6-7 pm free of cost for kids all ages. The new mentorship program takes a different turn from the usual knife making and blacksmithing to teaching children the ways of archery from a safe environment with the help and guidance of Unites States veterans.

Warriors Way partners with local Lima community to mentor and teach kids archery

"Youth Archery Class" will take place every Tuesday 6-7 pm free of cost for kids all ages.

Warriors Way Founder and President, David Bates stated, "we're at the beginning the crawl stages of it right now. We have some select kids coming out, so we can sort of figure out the program, get up and going, so we can get the kids from the Bradfield Center out here. It's basically a youth mentorship program. We'll have vets mentoring kids in a positive way to be part of the community, to help grow, give the kids that are in Lima something to do play a safe place to come and hang out and socialize with each other."

"I'm here today because it's fun to go outside and hang out with my dad, and it excites me because I get to practice," added Brielle Bates, Participant.

If you would like to sign your child up, you can visit the Warriors Way website or Facebook page.
