The American Legion tests students from participating schools on Americanism and government. This morning they were at Lima Christian Academy to present an award. The test includes 50 questions regarding the U.S. Flag, Constitution, Declaration of Independence, as well as different forms of government within the state.
Out of 58 thousand students, 18 were selected because of their high test scores. These student will have the opportunity to go on an all expense paid trip to Washington D.C. and Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. The 18 students selected also submitted essays on the topic, "What can be done to curb violence in schools?"
These essays will be sent to Ohio government and law enforcement officials to read.
