ALLEN COUNTY, OH (WLIO) - Schools across the "Totality" area of the eclipse have also been making plans for Monday, April 8th.
Since it's a school day, administrators have taken all the information they have been told by safety services about what can be expected to determine what they will do. Apollo Career Center has decided to cancel school since the peak of interest and congestion due to the eclipse will be around dismissal.
"So, looking forward to this year we put a professional development day on our calendar, so we knew we were not going to have kids but now we're going to make that day an online day for our instructors to work from home just to avoid all the things that we hear are coming to Lima, Ohio," stated Keith Horner, superintendent of Apollo Career Center.
Horner says the school will be back to normal on Tuesday.
