The West Ohio Community Action Partnership wants to make sure those who qualify for energy assistance are getting it. Their Winter Crisis Program started on November 1, 2024, and runs through the end of March 2025. It provides a once-per-season benefit payment for heating and/or electric accounts.

"A lot of people qualify that don't know they qualify. And even if you don't have that emergency situation where you're in disconnect notice. If you use bulk fuel and your bulk fuel gets down to 25% or less, and that's something that's a huge benefit because propane especially costs a lot," said Kris Keller, community services director at WOCAP.
