AUGLAIZE COUNTY, Ohio (WLIO) - A U-Haul truck involved in a police chase on Interstate 75 and U.S. Route 33 crashed between Wapakoneta and Cridersville, snarling traffic.

According to the Wapakoneta Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, troopers from the Piqua Post were dispatched around 4:27 p.m. Tuesday after receiving multiple calls about a U-Haul driver operating recklessly, traveling at a high rate of speed and making unsafe passes on northbound I-75 on the south side of Sidney.

As the U-Haul continued northbound, Piqua troopers positioned themselves near Anna and notified the Wapakoneta Post. At mile marker 109 in Auglaize County, troopers from the Wapakoneta Post attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but the U-Haul fled, eventually exiting onto U.S. Route 33.

After making several turns, the U-Haul reentered I-75, this time traveling southbound. Near mile marker 109, the vehicle crossed over and returned to the northbound lanes. At mile marker 115 on I-75 between Wapakoneta and Cridersville, the U-Haul crashed into a commercial truck.

No injuries were reported. One person was taken into custody.
