Back To Our Roots RV Tour

U.S Secretary of Agriculture, Sonny Perdue continued his "Back to our Roots" RV tour with a stop in Celina.

Perdue, alongside administrator Linda McMahon, head of the Small Business Administration, visited Celina Tent to see its manufacturing facilities and the tents made for disaster relief. During the RV tour, the secretary will hear ideas and concerns from local farmers, business owners, community leaders, and US Department of Agriculture employees.

After completing the tour Perdue reflected, stating, "This is really the heart and soul of America. How entrepreneurs had a good idea. This business started in a basement with party tents and now has developed into a worldwide export business, exporting a great product of safety and health and communications and many other areas there."

This is Secretary Perdue's third "Back to our Roots" tour since taking office just under a year ago, a necessary component to being successful in his position.

Administrator Linda McMahon stated, "How can you really advocate on behalf of businesses if you’re talking about regulations, if you’re talking about tax impacts, if you're talking about workforce issues, if you haven’t actually seen what they do, and not only have that kind of empathy but first-hand knowledge."
