FINDLAY, OH (WLIO) - The bomb squad was called to a Findlay home after grenades were found by a construction crew.
Just after 11:00 a.m. Tuesday morning, the Findlay Police Department was contacted when three grenades were found at 401 Washington Street. The home was not occupied, and it had been used as a staging area for several construction companies in the past. The Northwest Ohio Bomb Squad out of Toledo determined that two of the hand grenades were likely inert training munitions, the other was a smoke grenade and was likely functional. The grenades were collected for destruction. No other dangerous ordinance was found on the property. The police cannot determine ownership of the property.
